Heartbroken....

I'm feeling quite heartbroken right now.....i worked very hard to be where i am in my art.

I've been doing this since i was very young starting out drawing dinosaurs & whales & all sort of things that i found fascinating at that age. It is my passion & a part of my life. Ever since i became a member here at DA i'm constantly amazed by the talent shown....it puts my stuff to shame...there is no comparison. However i'm not bothered by that...there will always be someone better than you....i made up my mind a LONG time ago that i just try to do my best. As long as i do that i'm satisfied.

I logged on yesterday & i was accused of tracing...it is something i've never done since i started drawing. The pic in question was the pic of Karen from Fate/Hollow. It is true that i used a reference pic as the base....it was a beautiful pic. But don't tell me you never did that before.....you see a pic you like, you would want to try to draw it. I've seen on the site pics that i recognize from 'visual novel' games being posted as their own....some are obvious....

I should've given credit to the original artist which i have now done....i know all about plagerism & i should've known better. So i apologize for that mistake. I'm not here to be recognized or for profit....i just wanna share my art.

This accusation has hurt me greatly but i'm not a vengeful person...so i hope the person & myself can understand each other better.

izu try not to worry about whatever that person said because you have talent and it shows wonder what that person has? but also ya gotta think too some people become jealous of others and bash their art so they can hopefully make that artist feel bad and that will make them feel good but i say no matter what you have people here that will defend you so try not to worry k :)

Izu-chan!!!! :hug: It's okay!! I would take that as a more-or-less compliment, because it shows that you are a great enough artist to have it look exactly like the original. ^__^ I wish I was as good an artist as you! You, Imppy, Roq, and Kitty are all my idols!! (And Without You) I'm glad to see that you aren't angry with said person, but I would like to see you happier

I'm proud that you're not at all angry about it, but please, please, PLEASE, don't let that person's comments get you down like that.

Redrawing pics from the original is not exactly that easy either. I still remember my share of copying pics down because I liked how the original looked.

One day once you've perfected your skill I'm sure you'll be able to draw your own characters as well. So please don't feel down. We all know how much you like to draw.

omg izumo no ;_; stand up for your own rights! Well tracing is pretty much plagiarizing but it's a completely different matter when you use reference from a picture. Show him evidences that you did not trace it, I've seen the comment... I'll PM you about it.

This whole day has been depressing for me....something like this has never happened to me before in all my years of doing something that i love.

I've sent you a PM about all this......the individual has recieved a PM from me & like i said it's unfortunate he thinks that way. I'm not at all angry...more disappointed in the fact that it made me question all the years & hard work i've put into trying to be the best i can.

Like i told you & him....i'm not in it for the popularity or for profit...i love to draw been doing it since i was 7 years old...i'm 27 now...i'm not young anymore...the door for a career has long closed for me. I'm doing this all cause i love it and nothing more.

People here & everywhere can make their own judgments about me.....& i'm not gonna try to persuade you to think otherwise. I worked hard & will continue to do so.....no matter what people think.
